About Us

Thirteen Years of Wandering

On a warm August afternoon in 2013, we gave our first concert together in the Dorset village of Dewlish. We had no grand plan, no business strategy and certainly no idea that, thirteen years later, we'd still be wandering together, through churches, cities, coastlines and, more recently, through recordings, arrangements and listening journeys...

Katy Ashman

Flutist, writer and creator of listening journeys and pilgrimages inspired by Britain's landscapes, history and folklore. Katy has earned Gold Level tourism ambassador badges for all the counties of North Wales, including a Gold cultural ambassador badge for Wales.

Miles Nipper

Bassoonist, contrabassoonist, conductor and arranger, photographer and researcher with a particular love of Venice, architecture and the stories hidden within the city.

Together, as The Wandering Winds, we create journeys through music, place and story.

We discovered that the places which stay with us are rarely the ones we planned for. They're the places that ask us to slow down, to listen, and to return.

The Wandering Winds grew from that discovery.
